I completed greasing the 5 zerks, changing out diff oil and transfer case oil. Good timing, since the U-joints were bone dry... I have read here that I should grease the slip yoke that is covered by a rubber sleeve. Are there any posts on getting the sleeve rings off and proper method? I did read one that was not very detailed. I just do not want to screw something up!!

I don't think you can grease the slip yoke at all on the 2nd gen trucks. I haven't seen anyone 'find' a grease zerk for it.

I had a 96 tacoma and the slip yoke grease zerk was located at the end of the shaft inbetween the 'ears'.

Don't remove that boot..... the grease zerk wouldn't be located under it anyway.

I am so confused. I have read so many conflicting posts on this.

Ya, me too. The one thing that sucks is on the 06s like mine. It does not have grease zerts. :(
