I hooked up all the wires correctly and carefully. Installed a fuse tap and put it in the fog light slot in the fuse box by the battery. Then I placed a 15 amp fuse on the fuse tap. Then I put the fuses in the battery line and the supply line. The KC lites came on but the fogs would not. Then I shut it all off and checked the fuse tap again and the fuse is good but now the KC lites won't come on. If I remove the fuse tap and put the fog lp fuse in it is ok.

Question, what is the best place to put the fuse tap in a 2009 trd sport.

too much current being drawn from that tap. might want to add a relay or run a separate switch for the lights. this happened with my dtrl when i wired it with the arb indicators. too much draw would shut off a set of the dtrls. simple relay solves it. i run a separate fuse box so i dont mix it in with the first one.

Wire it like so. If you want them to come on only when your fog lights are on, then run a wire from the fuse tap at the fog light slot to the number 86 prong on the relay.

Ok so I connect the fuse tap to 86, and I connect the supply line to 87, and I have to run a fuse line from the battery to 30. And of course a ground.

This just seems redundant because there is already a line from the battery to the KC relay and so on.

Just curious and confused. I don't do a lot of auto electrical.

Just did the relay and besides all the parts, relay, fuse link to the battery, wire and connectors, and fuses, cost was another $37.00 and lights still won't come on. I will go through and check all the fuses tomorrow again but very frustrating.

use a multimeter to try to find out where you're not getting current at.I'm not far from you, if you haven't got it figured out this weekend, let me know and maybe I can help.

Only one relay is used to power your new lights.

Let's assume the relay you have matches the one in the picture above. Also that you are hooking them up so that they come on with your existing fog lights.

#30 gets a fuse protected wire from the battery.
#86 would tap into an existing powered fog light wire, also fuse protected. (Or from a powered fog light wire to another switch in the cab, then to #86. If you want to be able to just turn off the kc lights)
#87 would go to power your new fog lights.
    #85 is ground.

#86 is simply the signal voltage to close contacts #30 and #87 to power the light. #86 doesn't power anything but the relay.

Thanks again Chris. Wow it was great getting together and finally meeting you. I would love for us Az TW guys to get together. I know it already happens but I haven't had the chance.

Can't wait to get the bracket from Bamf now to stiffen it all up and aim them right. Question, the lights are mounted upside down. Do I need to turn the lenses. Just curious as to why the lenses are marked "top"

no, any direction is fine, just make sure the screws on the rings are at the bottom, like lowest point, not bottom of the light, they could make water collect if they are at the highest point and if seal is weak may leak, of course make sure the seal is good and sound around the lense. also since they are upside down, make SURE the seal where the metal sleeve goes into the light housing is also SEALED very GOOD! a single drop of water on a light that has been on for even a few minutes will kill it!

air-flow is good to keep cool, water on the inside will make the bulb fry in a new york minute, or could short the poles on the light inside!

you may have mentioned it and i missed it, but where did you mount them? always cool to see different setups :)

    cheers,
    disco

Some lenses are marked as they have holes at the bottom for draining moisture. Look for any little holes at the bottom. Otherwise, You shouldn't worry about the way its mounted.
