This is my second.... 2nd gen build. First one was a 08 TRD sport 144 with S/C & 35s. Now going for Reg cab and want to throw the URD S/C in immediately but do I go auto or manual?? Driving a manual jeep now but have never felt like i was good at shifting it. Gadget says auto has more pros with V6 S/C so I am wondering if so for the 4 cyclinder 2.7 ?? Huge price diff between a 05+ and the 11-14 trucks. But if i go manual wont i want clutch & short shift, looks like a must. Don't know of any add ons for the autos.

This will be a project build and eventually daily driver. I will be running 255 KM2s on 16 until i tune the engine strong enough to run L/T with 37s down the road. I'm not much of a mechanic but was a detailer/oil lube at a Stealership for years so willing to dive into this buying tools the whole way as well as trading beer for helping hands. Im willing to fack up to learn but lets here what you guys think....muwha ha haaaaa

Manual if you want to take full advantage of the power gains, auto if you can drive a stick!

Interesting question. I like a manual in my sporty cars as it gives me control of the cars power, none of the auto shifting BS when cornering and I am in the right gear when I need power.

But my 4x4 Tacoma is a V6 with the 5-speed auto and this is good for me. I can concentrate on getting the right line up a hill or around a boulder or root or such. With the 4 cyl having its powerband higher up a manual might be good too, but I'd be sweating it having to downshift in climbing a hill.

Interested in what way you go.
