Alpine SBR-S8-4

Hey everyone. Just purchased a 2014 TRD Sport DC. Couldn't be more excited about it. However it didn't take long before I decided I wanted to upgrade my sound system. I have tried to search the forum, but couldn't find any results for a question I had... Does anyone know if the Alpine SBR-S8-4 subwoofer will fit behind the rear seats? And if so, would I need to remove the plastic shelf, or the entire plastic compartment altogether?

You'd have to remove the plastic bin on the big side, and remove the plastic off the back of the seat. There is only 9" from the floor to the cross brace on the back, and a maximum of 8" at the bottom from the back of the seat to the back wall. Removing all the plastic may give you the space, but you'd really need to to some measuring.

 

Sounds great, thank you. I'll have to get in there and take some more measurements. Looks like some members have gotten similarly sized JL microsubs to fit.

 

The microsubs are thinner, and shorter. And they're not ported, so it's a different sound. That's why the Alpine box is so big, it's ported. It would sound pretty good, but I don't know about the size. A tape measure is your friend.

 

I came across a post and noticed you used the supercrewsounds box? How do you like that? Does it fit well behind the seat without hitting anything?

 

Yeah, the SCS box was nice. Tight fit, and you get to keep the child seat anchors. I've designed my own box now, and the SCS box has moved on, but it was nice.

 

The Alpine SBR-S8-4 is a great little sub.
