Sport Signal Mirrors off a 2012 - NJ

Ok so heres the deal... i wanted sport mirrors for my 2012, so i bought these from partsgeek 5 months ago. they are PLUG AND PLAY on my truck (not sure about yours). These are not the ones from Toyota, they are exact replicas. The quality of these mirrors is not that of the Toyota ones. They are about 80% of the OE ones... and they are one third the price.

i bought the Toyota ones since im OCD for $450.00 after using these...

they are in 100% working order and they prob have about 5000 miles on them in 5 months they have been installed.

The mirrors im shipping you are the ones photographed here. they are unpainted and that is how i had them installed on my base truck since i have black fenders. they can be painted to match.

to install these you just remove your door panel and its 3 bolts. all i had to do is plug them into the connector and they worked out of the box.

drivers side cover has a very small scuff in it only noticeable from certain angle and close, its hardly worthy of even a mention here but obviously im going for full disclosure. you cant even see it in the photos... will not be visible if you decide to paint them or plastic polish, its very minor, i didnt scuff it, they came that way new.

after installing the OE ones, the illumination intensity of these are equal to the factory ones.

these are boxed up and ready to be shipped!

What would you say the difference is between the OE, and the knockoffs? I'm similarly anal, but for $150, I may be be able to live with it..

 

Does anyone know if these would fit a 2007? In other words, one that did not come with them? Also second to Diablo's question.

 

The OE ones come pre painted, these don't. I bought the paint but never conjured up the motivation to actually do it.

The mirror glass doesn't vibrate but they will shake occasionally if u are on rough roads or high frequency bumps.

The motors that turn the glass turn a little slower than the OE ones.

may sound silly but i feel like the mirror optics on the OE ones are slightly better

If ur super anal like me then the $450 authentic jobs are for you. If ur more casual then this a cheap way to have sport mirrors. They look, fit and function identically.

I'm pretty sure you need 2012+ for these to fit. But don't hold me to that.

 

By unpainted, do you mean primed or black? Looks black to me...

 

they are unpainted.. ready to be primed and painted... the pre-primed finish is similar to the stock black ones

 

Gotcha! Good luck selling. I didn't realize we had the option of mirrors like that, I will look into that in the future.

 

They will work on the 05 and up models, the older model trucks will have to run wires for the signals to work.

Yes, if run 2 wires on each side and hook them to your signal wires under the dash. The power mirror plug should be the same, if not you may have to splice in to them.... I'm not 100% on that connector, so you may have to mod it but they will bolt up fine.

When you buy the mirrors from the dealer you have to buy the mirrors and covers seperate. Not sure if those covers are the same on those but if they are just buy the colormatched cover.

 

thats correct. these come with covers that are finished the same way stock base mirrors are, the same semi-flat black as the mirror frame itself. its up to you if you want to prime and paint them to match. i just used mine unpainted as the black matched.

the covers themselves still come off ect the same way the factory ones do. infact, i could have just bought the toyota ones and attached them on there.
