Im looking to put some new shoes on the truck. Highway tires not off-road is what im looking at has anyone ever put the 245s on their truck? they are slightly narrower compared to the 265's both have an outside diameter of 30.6"

The 245's are stock on my 05 SR5 (no suspension mods).

I am running 245/75/R16 Michelin LTXAT2s and I did a measurable amount of towing last year with no issues.

    :)

I have 265/70R16s and going to go to 245/75s soon.
I am hoping to improve the fuel mileage a bit with the narrower tire.

Something I went to was 235/85/16's slightly taller than 265/75/16 . Mine are a little narrower. But I like them also got 10 ply

I was thinking of doing the same thing. My 2010 V6 Double cab has 265/70/16 on it. Would the narrower tire have any negative effects on handling in any conditions?

I wouldn't think so unless you were going to be doing some high speed get off's. hahahaha. I have had wide tires on several diff. rigs found these 235-85's at a super deal. Same height as the 265-75's, drove on ice and snow and handle very well. If you think about it all we used to have was skinnies, plus I prefer my tires to be inside the fender well less rock pecks and stuff thrown up the side of my truck.:turtleride:
