Look through the driver side wheel well at the oil filter. At the 10:00 o'clock position next to the oil filter there is a sensor in the block, that may be where it goes, has a single wire. I'm thinking oil pressure sending unit.

Found where it busted off from! Is this my oil pressure sensor or sending unit? I wonder why the truck runs fine with no CEL? The part it broke off from is the gray piece the knuckle of my index finger is touching.

    ...too much shit to list.
Oil pressure sending unit. It's a $25 part.

That sending unit had no effect on the cel becuase it is simply a switch that activates the light in your dash. It creates ground when there is low pressure. Therefor no way to really check if it's still functioning.

Thanks guys! Will a sensor from napa work or is it an "oem is best" type of part?

Napa is fine... It's not a crucial part like an 02 sensor/ somethig that communicates with the ecu

I was under the assumption that only tacomas with the towing package had the trans temp warning lights. Mine has no factory auxiliary trans cooler but it does have a hitch receiver. Do all 1st gen DC's have this feature?

Also, when I turn the truck to the on position without starting, the a/t oil temp light comes on with all my other warning lights but the a/t p does not come on. Normal?
