Hello my name is Lacey. i have a
    2001 toyota tacoma 3.4L V6
Truck was running hot last week. after a quick inspection of the radiator discovered a 3-4 inch crack close to the filler cap. i bought and replaced the radiator in which i had to use the old mounting brackets because the new ones were not compatible(too wide). I have replaced the radiator and the thermostat. truck still runs hot and boils and steams out the overflow. my question today would be where do I turn to now? I know that when you rev the motor in nuetral the temp drops some and then when you let it go back to idle, the temperature goes right back up. Could it be something with the fan. i know the fan turns when the truck is running but is there more to it? could it be the water pump or is it more likely something more? please help. thank you

Take a heater line loose and see how much flow you're getting at idle. My guess is water pump.

If its not the water pump, perhaps you have air trapped in the system somewhere. When you replaced the t-stat, did you put the jiggle valve in the 12 or 6 o'clock position? I can't remember which position it supposed to be in, but there was just a fairly recent post about this. If you use the search button, you probably can locate it.

Good luck, and welcome to TW.

    6 o'clock.
However I doubt that is the problem.
    Water pump is one.
Fan clutch is another. Fan should be roaring at about 2000 rpm if it is overheating. If not, that might be the issue.

Maybe too simple but when you replaced the radiator did you also flush the system you may have some debris causing a blockage
