Hey nice! That's exactly where I put mine. It looks like you had to cut out a little of the plastic - I didn't need to do that on mine. Model year difference I'm guessing.

I love cheap simple mods like this that add just a little extra to the whole package. :)

Yeah, I cut the plastic there so I could tighten the bolt. In hindsight I could've cut less but its not a bad thing, only plastic. I'm gonna do amber/orange rock lights that come on with a SPDT switch - on with dome light/ off / on whenever. I also have put in grille lights, look at sig pic or gallery

Today I figured out how to make the next little lighting mod happen:

1] I bought one of these timer circuits.

2] I used a standard Bosch auto relay

3] I bought red waterproof strip lighting on a spool (love this stuff)

I used all that plus some regular hookup wire along with a push in the right direction (thanks valleyboy!) and figured out the right wiring to use my Viper alarm as a trigger.

Now when I arm/disarm my alarm, the LEDs under the door handles illuminate for 25 seconds then turn off.

I'm rather pleased with how they turned out. They are actually up under the handle, stuck to the black plastic, so what you see is a reflection.

I wish I could do that, but my door handles don't allow it really. I'm still thinking about what color underglow LED strip I should get. Then hook it up to a constant hot with a switch for ground with dome lights or constant ground

My door handles didn't allow that either...until I drilled a tiny little hole for the wires to feed through. Here's the driver's side - I think I'm going to pull the strip off and replace the electrical tape with heat shrink tubing. It'll look a lot cleaner that way. Not sure why I didn't do that to begin with.

Oh, well I meant that the second gen has open door handles, so it might look odd, maybe if I could flush mount some LEDs somehow

Oh, I understand what you're saying...you've got a handle that sticks out that you grab instead of flush like mine. The glow would probably look cool, but having the LED right where you grab wouldn't be too good.

Why don't you stop by this weekend and I'll take a look and see if I can figure out something... :D

By the way, what did you use to paint your brake calipers?

Pretty certain I used Rustoleum Red Metal Spec that I picked up at Fred Meyer (Kroger). I'll try and remember to double check when I get home.

The key was to put down a couple coats of white primer first, then the red looked just like I wanted it to.

Hmm, ok, want to paint mine, wondering if I should use a high heat or engine enamel type paint. I think they sell "caliper" paint too

They do, but I didn't use that specifically. I just liked this color and went with it.

Just not sure if it'd hold up under the heat of the brakes, but I'll research it some
