Friday late, a car salesman stopped in where I work. I had told him quite some time ago to keep a look out for a used Toyota pick up. He has been by with a few to show me, but none were older, low mileage, and well cared for.

I was busy, but the truck looked good. I drove it about two blocks and said I'd take it. It is a 98 regular cab, 5 speed, 4X4, 4 banger with just under a 100K on it.

Today I went in to pay for it and after spending the weekend reading about rust was apprehensive. I crawled under it expecting to find a disaster, but instead it looked like new. I'd never have known to look had I not had a heads up from this site.

It's just going to be a fishing, hunting, camping vehicle with an occasional trip to the hardware store thrown in. I have a 3/4 for heavier work. But, I am tickled, no real dents, dings, rust or interior damage. Carfax shows it having been serviced at a Toyota dealership about every 6 months. It started as an Arizona vehicle and then moved to Idaho about 12 years ago.
