I've noticed that the wiper switch seems to rotate the wrong direction. Rotating the switch forward (CW when viewed from the right) lines up the indicator with the wider marks. On my 2001 a Tacoma and on my wife's RAV4, this is the long interval position.
However, on my 2014, it's just the opposite.
Could this have just been accidentally wired wrong at the factory?
I'll be taking it in for the 1st 5K service in the next couple days, and thought I'd bring it up. However, if it means pulling things apart and possibly damaging something, then I'd rather just live with it.

I noticed the difference also going from a 1999 to a 2014. They must have changed the direction on it.

no yeah its definitely different and i believe its a design change. My 2003 taco has it like yours where rotating forward is slow (where the bar is big), but on the wifes 2013 highlander, Big marks mean fast and little mean slow, and it drove me nuts the first times i used it.

Maybe they were trying to dumb it down, like the bigger the bar the more wipes you get, but i always saw it as the bigger the bar the longer the interval which seems more logical.

OK, looks like it's normal. Guess I'll get used to it.

It's the reverse from my other 5 toyotas including 02 tacoma, sienna, rav, corolla and highlander; maybe specific to the 2nd gen Tacoma. Seems backward to me as the markings on the stalk don't make sense (wide marking indicate more delay, but it's actually less on the wiper action, etc. as it is on my other cars.....)
I've gotten used to it. I exect it's a screwup in the wiring harness design, but it works.
