opinion on sterling

too harsh? Just right? overblown?

I'm not defending him by no means but banned for life and fined 2.5 million seems a bit excessive. Plus they are going to try and make him sell his team.

I was listening to Lars Larson on the subject and I agree with him. Sterling was out of line for what he said. But then again the NBA has the right to do that since it is a private industry.

Why was his personal conversation with his girlfriend taped? sounds like a triffling woman that will probably end up coming into some money IMO

 

I'll bite on this.

First, I don't agree with his opinions and views.

2nd if you look at pro sports in general, there are far more crimes committed among the athletes, rape, DUI, killing dogs, murder, assault, sexual assault, etc....I cant remember any of them being barred from their team/league for life. Why did Sterling get a ban? What crime did he commit? Did he harm anyone else or property? Why isn't there a witch hunt on athletes that do mess up but then given a free pass at redemption? Now I get the NBA is free to do as they please, and Im ok with him being banned, BUT if you are going to set the bar for the owners, the employees should be on the same level as well.

 

I will also say I do not agree with racism in any way... That includes the same type of thing in reverse that happens everyday... Going to leave it pretty simple and use a off topic example... But how well would white entertainment television fly... Could go on for days... But I won't

 

That's why I don't watch the NBA anymore.
