**Reactivating the Dealerships Car Alarm***

Hi y'all, I am new to toyotaworld as I have just bought my first 2010 toyota tacoma.
I know this has been asked before but I still haven't gotten the answer I'v been looking for.

When I was buying my tacoma from the dealership, they wanted to charge me $350.00 just to activate my car alarm. I assumed that it came with it, but apparently not.
When I saw the guy "de-activate" the alarm, he simply put a chip in what seemed to be where the red alarm "light" is...a small outlet of some sort.
Can I simply pull it out to "activate" it? Do I need a different chip to activate it? Does anybody know how to activate the Alarm without having to take it back to a dealership?
