I noticed my truck has a sequel coming from the serpentine belt for a little while, off and on. I decided to get some Prestone belt dressing spray to help eliminate the squeel. Upon squirting it on the exposed pulleys I could find I noticed my ac pulley wasnt spinning and a slight squeek was coming from the belt. Didnt over spray it since my radiator fan was blowing it everywhere but the pulleys.

Normal for our truck or should I take it to get a new belt? Bought it used but I have all maintanence covered for this with the warrenty I got with the truck.

I should also add my AC is still pretty damn cold and I live in AZ.

Belt dressing is a waste of money IMO. Get a new belt and check the idler pulleys to make sure you don't have a bearing going south.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
How many miles? I went 170K before I changed my OEM belt.

no belt dressing ..... EVER! That stuff is the devil in a can, not to mention the mess that it makes. Clean everything with brake cleaner, check your pulleys and bearings, put on a new Gatorback belt.

BTW, the belt gets replaced from the bottom. Make yourself a diagram before you pull it off. Its a really big belt looped through like a snake.

Are you sure the pulley on the A/C compressor wasn't spinning? I'm willing to bet that it was, and only the front clutch plate and the compressor shaft was stationary, which can be normal any time the clutch is not energized. X2 on no belt dressing and all the other advice given.

Let me put it this way, the pulley would stop spinning. I could watch it just stay still as the belt spins on it and it would randomly start spinning again.

You may have an issue with the AC Compressor binding.

I've heard of ac compressors seizing. I believe the clutch locks up or something.

didn't say the miles; but it could be a belt; if the squeal stops with the dressing (dressing is only good for testing anyway). Then get a new belt and be certain the pulleys/tensioner are not binding up.
There is a chance that the ac is failing with the compressor starting to fail internally (too much load on the belt)

Too bad we had to get delphi compressors in our trucks.
