Has anyone done it? I know everyone's just gonna say "buy a new truck" but I'm just wondering if any here has done the swap, or seen it done

I can imagine it would be expensive and time consuming...

It's a job but not impossible, probably around the same as a SAS. Search pirate4x4. Definitely worth it if it's what you want, it's a shame Toyota doesn't sell the 4door long bed in standard

A donor truck would definitely be best...I honestly can't tell you how much it would cost, but I've seen it done on other cars and trucks for prices of $3000-$10000.

A HUGE part of the cost is whether you're doing the labor yourself or not...the parts will be expensive, but the labor cost will be outright ridiculous

My only question would be why? It's not a particularly good transmission by anyone's account that I've ever read. I've been driving my 6 speed since '06 and I'm not impressed by it, in fact I wish I'd bought the automatic and I've never owned a vehicle with an automatic in my life and I've been driving (legally) for thirty years.
    Just my two cents worth.

with enough people grumbling about how bad their 6-speed is, im sure you could find a trade!

either that or maybe they'll quit grumbling

being 2wd should help you a bit, bodies are pretty generic I think.

my number 1 ques would be the crossmember. if that can work, next would be trouble codes from not having your auto connected anymore. if that works out, driveshaft, cupholder plastic pieces, done. my guess anyway

i saw your ad on craigslist...id almost be down to do that..but almost all the mods cant be transfered ...exept the front fenders lol

the front kit is 2wd only and the front bumpers welded on, your truck is exactly what im looking for though

yeah looks like you are on some bigger tires. still running 3.73's?

4.56's would be much more economical than a 6spd.
