My dad & brother are replacing my clutch in my 1996 Tacoma. The they can't get the transmission to come off the engine. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! And any tricks or short cuts that would help as well.

Front dome light added, light reminder added, door chime mod, added 2nd gen 4runner headrests, grey wire mod, 2lo mod, more later.
Have them check to be sure they didn't miss a tranny bolt on top somewhere, that happens sometimes, if all the bolts and driveline are removed it has to come out.

Make sure all the bolts are out .
Spray penetrating fluid on the dowel pins and everywhere the bellhousing meets the back of the engine . 2 large screwdrivers and start prying . It will begin to loosen if all the bolts are out .

Make sure they replace the pilot bearing and have the flywheel turned down at a machine shop . Skipping this step will void the warranty of your new clutch

Make sure they either have the flywheel resurfaced, or replaced. If not, you're wasting you're money on the new clutch.

pack the pilot bearing hole with grease and use a dowel rod almost the same size as the hole and it will pop right out..
