Ok so I am doing the 5100 lift next weekend on my 07 dcsb. I have the three leaf non tsb rear packs. I have the 5100 shocks, trim packers, shims and toytec 2in aal sitting in my garage. So if I have 2 in aal in the rear, I should be good putting the fronts at 2.5 right? Since I am a double cab I will get less than 2.5?

Yea you should be fairly level (maybe even slight rake) with 5100s at 2.5 with a 2" AAL.

Probably aware, but you will have a slightly rough ride due to the 5100s at 2.5.

So maybe just set at 1.75 for a better ride?

Yea, 1.75 would have a better ride, and you will also not need UCAs (you may need them at 2.5 to get allignment within spec).

However, you will have a lot of rake if you put the 2" AAL with the 5100s at 1.75. Not sure of the options, but a 1" AAL would complement the 5100s at 1.75 much better.

What's the trim packer for? I though it was only for the seat of OME coil overs and the 1/4" spacer is what works on the front driver side on the 5100s...

I thought the trim packer would work for any lift? Think I will need the shims?

What are you referring to as a trim packer? The OME trim packer? If so, that will only work with OME shocks. If you're referring to a 1/4" top spacer, that will work fine for the driver side lean.

I'm doing roughly the same thing next weekend and I was told you only need the shims if you start feeling some vibs. Can anyone verify this?

True. Not everyone has vibes so they aren't always needed. I have the carrier bearing drop kit installed but no shims. No vibes on my lift. I do have dakar leafs though, not an AAL.

So if I install them right off the bat would it cause problems?

i myself personally like a lil rake, i plan on doing a 2in single long aal in the rear with OME N182 shocks as they have 1.2in MORE travel than the 5100's

And then 5100's in the front at 1.75.

The problem with 2in lift in the rear is you are likely to feel the rear topping out hard even with the 5100 regular length rears, but the spring pack is not think enough to allow the use of the 5100 extended length rears, which would fully compress before the bump stops hit.

This is why for about a 2in lift in the rear i would recommend the N182 OME shocks, or the OME 60091 shocks over the 5100 rears. Been doing a bunch of research on lengths (extended and compressed) and the N182 is the best. All the following are in inches. Notice the 5100's do not offer much extra extension over the originals. Add in the extra thickness of the AAL, and you actually have the same or less droop than the original setup. Also note that at full stuff (on the bump), with a 3+1 stock leaf pack, your looking at a shock length of right at 14.75in... So even if the AAL added an extra 5/8ths of an inch of thickness to the leaf pack, you could not use the 5100 extended without bottoming the shock before hitting the bump.

    (SHOCK)~~~~~~~~~~~Collapsed~~~Extended~~~Travel
    Taco 4600 (original TRD)~~~14.68~~~~22.54~~~~7.86
    Taco 5100~~~~~~~~~~~14.02~~~~22.94~~~~8.92
    Taco 5100 extended~~~~~16.34~~~~27.28~~~~10.94
    Nitrocharger 60091~~~~~14.17~~~~23.58~~~~9.41
    Nitrocharger n182~~~~~~13.85~~~~23.97~~~~10.12
