Installation was simple but minor steps need to be addressed. Linkage would rub if not bent slightly, shown in the pic with on the yellow shaded area. Also to place the handle in the tailgate the red lock tab must be removed completely or the handle will not fit. Instructions stated to "rock" it and I certainly refuse to do that scratching the paint. Most importantly I hope everyone kept the factory handle for the camera housing and bolts, I came from the older popnlock so I had to route the camera harness back to factory location. Hope this helps

Nice. How do you like the texture of the new lock, does it come close to being OEM quality?

What's the difference between the 5400 and the 5500?

Fitment and appearance was very close to factory. Texture is also very close, could be a tad darker but hey it's aftermarket. Difference with the two pop&lock models is that one is able to accept your factory key. I paid full price on their site I think it was close to $100

Do you loose the factory guide lines in the back up view with the new pop n lock?

The 5400 uses a BOLT lock cylinder that will self-code to your ignition key. The 5500 uses aregular lock and included key.

Nice. Can't wait to get mines, plus the power lock.

You won't lose it, cause you're just swapping out the camera from the stock handle to the Pop and Lock.

Factory lines are still in range, better than the older popnlock handles

I have a question. I just installed this and when coding the key did it make a full revolution for you? Also now when I go to lock or unlock it the key only moves about 1/8 of a revolution, just doesn't feel right. Is that how yours is?

In the coding procedure it started at 12 o'clock and stopped at 8 o'clock. Once finished it only turns about. 1/8th of a turned pike you mentioned. I reevaluated the camera view positioning compared to my previous popnlock and it seems to point down further and focus on the bumper more, a bit disappointing but worth it to be able to use my ignition key

Installed the codeable pop$lock.....worked fine for a week...now it won't unlock and i have a tonneau cover..can't get in bed to get it out....contacted pop&lock and have been waiting over a week for some type of resolution.
No sure what to do next...they are no help!!!

I installed my PL5400 about a month ago, it doesn't lock anymore. It only locks if I wiggle the key and force it for about 10 seconds. I'm afraid of breaking it if I keep doing this. I opened the tailgate to have a look at what could be the problem, looks like it's a combination of dust and misalignment of parts? The part that doesn't seem to work properly is the link between the lock cylinder and the next joint.

I'm very unhappy with the Pop & lock product, I bought the Pl 5300 a year ago, it broke after 13 months (company never responded to my email or messages on the phone). Bought the 5400 thinking they might of improved, no such luck. I'm now looking for an alternative solution and hope the P&L guys will reimburse me :-(
