Toyota Key Fob Questions

    Its worth a shot to open it up, they just pop right open. While your in there, you can get the number off the battery. I got batteries at Lowe"s. I also had them make me an extra key. It won't start the truck, but it will get me in the door if my keys are locked in somehow.

    You could attemt to re-program the old FOB, but if its not working and not just a dead battery it's probably shot.

    Bump for a new question.. Where is the remote fob antenna receiver inside the cab? And how can we relocate it to extend the range?

    Not on Toyota.
    All it takes is a functioning key and the the "blank."
    The procedure for programming the truck to recognize the new key is posted on this forum.

    HEy, just seeing this post. I bought my remote off ebay for like $15 and it worked. As far as transponder keys, I pick mine up from Home Depot. If i recall years 2006-2011 can be programmed there but you need to have a transponder key from your vehicle to code match. Their key looks nice and was $60, much cheaper.
