hey guys im new to the forum. just got my first tacoma(98 sr5 manual 4wd) in march and the redneck i bought it from had a 3'' body lift. my plan was to remove that once i got the funds and put in an icon or fox midtravel set up. but while wheeling with some buddies i noticed a lot of vibrations coming front the floor board. i will up load pics soon once i figure out how.. but the puck or tube has punctured through the cab floorboard on both sides of the front. BL is coming out very soon and the truck is now sitting for now. the frame is solid and intact. no damage is present on the frame. just the cab. wtf! what type of metal should i use to "restructure" this? any ideas on how to repair the under side of the cab? im an apprentice body technician but am out due to shoulder surgery. BODY TECHS FEEL FREE TO SHED SOME LIGHT!

    Look at build!
That sucks man! One more thread to add to the list of why not to use a body lift! Id just use similar guage sheet metal to factory or at most maybe 1/8".. Im down in Columbia, SC if you ever need anything, welding wise. Good Luck with it and keep us posted on the fix!

So does that mean the cab is no longer firmly attached to the frame?

Thanx for the quick responses guys! Yeah front of the cab is no longer secured to the frame. The front right was already busted and the previous owner did a crap job welding the puck to the cab. Right side is cracked and the left has busted through about half a centimeter. If I sandwich 1/8 inch steel or aluminium on both sides and remove the bl should I be okay to wheel once I change up the suspension with something more capable?

I'd think so as long as it's a decent patch.
