I have about 4k on my 2014 dcsb prerunner. When I got home today my door handle had fallen off. Just a hole in the door was left.

That sucks. Out of curiosity, which one?

I have a 14 dcsb too and I had some issues with the handle on my tailgate this weekend. It was stuck open I guess you would say.

Should be covered under warranty right?

It was the rear driver side door. Should be covered, dealership wouldnt say as much on the phone though. Asked me to bring it in.

    I've had four Tacoma's ('98, '05, '09, and '13).

The quality has dropped a little with each new truck, but so has the quality of everything in this world.

The Tacoma is still a better made product than most things. Sorry about your door handle.

It will be covered under warranty...if they try to say it's not, I'd raise hell.

I had an 11 before my 13, and I'd say build quality is the same, if not better from my experience. Also, some of the Mexican Tacos seem to have more issues than American made ones. Check your VIN...first number tells you. 1, 4, and 5 mean USA, 3 means Mexico.

Where is this documented? The Tijuana plant has been repeatedly awarded by Toyota for it's quality. Also, Tijuana only builds Double Cabs. All Access Cab models are built in Texas. My Mexico built DC was very well finished and I'm very satisfied.

There was a thread somewhere on here. Granted, that's fully opinion based, but I remember the thread because I came across it when I was having problem after problem (all minor) with my 11 made in Mexico. Prob has nothing to do with anything, but I made sure my 13 was made in USA.

I'm sorry about your door handle but the way you described that made me laugh. I can just see me walking out to my truck and be like... WTF????

It will be covered under warranty. Here's to hoping the rear door doesn't fall off on the way to the dealership.

This happened to my 2012 as well. I think it's pretty common. Just open up the tailgate and grease the latch / latch cables. Won't take you more than 15 minutes. Once I greased it again it's been trouble free. If you don't do anything it'll just get worse and stay stuck in the open / unlatched position.

Sheeeet. That's just an anti-theft feature. When soneone tries to open the door when it's locked the handle falls off.

Yes, I used the handle right before I got in to put a bag in the backseat. When I went to open it back up, the handle wasnt there.
