At least the EPA numbers are closer to reality. The old F150 rated 14/18 and I got no where near 18 and never reached the 14 city number. I'm curious to know how much worse the mileage will get in the winter V6 compared to the I4. I'm talking great white north cold where the high temps might only reach between 0-10F. I suspect the mileage of the V6 will take a bigger hit than the I4. I averaged 18 city with the taco this past feburary.

K & N airfilter, custom built 10" sub boxes, pioneer head, mag-lite mod, Blue LED dash lights, custom painted engine cover, mud flap removal mod, alarm/remote start installed,
I get around 360 per tank. 4.0 V6 no towing hardly any highway.

Last winter here in Northern Nevada I averaged about 18-19, but we don't get that cold here. My 2004 Silverado got about 14 in the winter months.

Seen a gen-1 Tundra lately? The gen-2 Tacoma IS a full size truck. Just not a giant.

No kidding, I had the opportunity to drive a WWII White Scout Car, think half-track but with tires. This a 5 ton armoured car and the current full size trucks make the Scout car look small. Hell the current F250/350 series trucks are bigger and weigh damn near as much. They don't have the ditch roller and armored glass though:D

I have a 55 mile commute, which runs about 10% city at about 30 mph and 90% on the highway at 70 mph. I have been getting about 19.5 mpg on those trips.

When I take the long way home, on an old highway at 55 mph, with a little more time spent in cities (about 15/85 city/hwy), I get between 22 and 25.

This is with a scangauge that I've been calibrating (fillups) for a few weeks.

Doesn't matter if i get 26 mpg on the freeway @65mph,normally. I go about 4 weeks between fill ups around town. Now when winter hits and i go skiing it wont be worth measuring: ethanol/in 4wd/unsteady speed/winter tires/etc, my guess is 18 but i didnt get a good estimate last season.
