Okay, So at the moment (unfortunately) I don't actually have a Tacoma. Now, I know that's what this site is about, but I know for a fact it's the next truck I'm going to get. I want to start getting ideas for the next few things I should start doing with it. I want to know about break-in points, things to watch out for, and just general fun things I can do to my Tacoma.

New or used? I can give you a rundown on my 2014, though I've only owned it a month.

It will be new. I'm going to get a double cab PreRunner shortbed. Hopefully with the intune touch screen.

The Entune unit is fantastic, except for sound quality. The speakers are miserable, the head unit is underpowered and there are no preamp outs. However, the voice commands, nav, bluetooth/phone, etc. are AMAZING.

The electronic rear locking differential is only operational up to something like 4 mph. There are mods that supposedly fix this but I haven't tried them.

Other than that, I love the truck.

When you get it the manual has a description of the proper motor break in. Check out the Cheap Tacoma Mods section and work your way through whatever interests you. I secured my bed mat and tailgate with the mods on this site.

Personally don't mind the entune unit, even the sound quality. I'm not an audiophile and while I know it could be better it's such a big improvement over my past truck (99 5-lug).

I regret nothing about my purchase - bought the same truck. I skipped 4x4 which may not be smart but couldn't justify the cost at the moment.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as far as the 4x4 system. I'm not sure just how often I plan on using it. I'm sure my thoughts will change as soon as I take my first trip in it. Now another question I have, is can has anyone leased one that wasn't a base model? What were they looking at price wise?
