Welcome aboard! There's plenty of info (wayyy too much :D) on here about lifts. Search Bilstein 5100 or OME and you'll get a good start.

3" lift (coilovers in front add a leaf and 1" spacer in rear), 33" grabber at2, powertrax rear locker, lce long headers w/high flow cat. and magnaflow catback, hurst shifter, roll bar... lots of lights
I have a 2.7L ext. cab myself. I tried a 2.5" spacer lift in front and a 1" spacer lift in the rear. The taco lean was just too intense. I went to a coilover kit from toytec and did an add a leaf on top of the 1" spacer and the truck sits perfect. But it's all about how much $ you wanna spend. The biggest problem people have with taking cheap routes and not upgrading their shocks is the lack of downward travel because after you apply 3" of lift to the stock suspension the shock is nearly at max extension.

Did it make a dramatic change on gas mileage ??

And how much was it roughly ?

well, any lift is gonna hurt your mpg a little when you get up to highway speeds. It's hard for me to say because I put 33" tires on shortly afterwards which slaughters you mpg. If you're worried about mpg loss from a lift and you only do occasional light off-roading then I wouldn't recommend a lift. The front coilovers were like $700 from toytec, and then the spacer lift and AAL were relatively cheap. But you won't have much down travel left in the rear if you do a 3" lift without replacing the rear shocks.
