    Hello Forum,

I have read many threads regarding these tires and overall performance (mud, sand, on-road) & they seem to both fit the bill for me. 80% on / 20% off road. Is there anyone here who has had both of these on their truck? Did you go from MTR's to Duratracs or the other way around? Which ones are louder? I assume the MTR's but I've never ridden on Duratracs.

I'm coming from BFG AT's in 275/70r17 & looking for 285's in these 2 Good Year models.

    Thank you.

Thats a good question. I can tell you the Duratracs arent as loud as I thought they would be. They have a nice little hum to them, and they just look mean. Im sure someone has had both of these on here

Thanks for the info. I've looked on other threads & forums (though I only subscribe to this one) & some people have said the same thing you said. It looks like Duratracs may be the one for me & they do look bad ass!

    BTW, saw your build.

Nice dinner on your hood & BEAUTIFUL TRUCK!

Enjoy it in good health & thank you for your time.

I've got 35" MT-Rs on my Tacoma and we have 35" Duratracs on my GF's 4runner. Hands down I would reccomend the Duratrac unless you do a lot of hard 4wheeling. I've always believed the Duratrac would be an awesome tire and they've exceeded my expectations. The MT-Rs on the other hand run great offroad but feel heavier on road, are noisier and dont handle as well. The weight of the MT-R sucked down some gas mileage from my truck as well even just coming from the BFG KM2s I used to have on the truck. Also, the MT-R have been a balancing nightmare. I swear I've only had them run smooth down the freeway about a combined 2 months that I've owned them (They've been on for 9mo) and the rest of the time they shake like crazy and I've been down getting them rebalanced every other week.
If they made the Duratrac in a 35x12.50x15 they'd be on my truck instead of MT-Rs.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I've drivin my buddys Tundra with his BFG A/T's and I would say they are about the same amout of noise as my Duratrac's. Tough to say because of it being a different truck but still seemed about the same.

Had Goodyear duratracs and am now running the GOODYEAR MT/R. For a mostly street truck duratracks are a better choice. My truck is mostly off road and the MT/R is one of the best tires I have run off road if not the best.

Strange I have not had any balancing problems on my MT/R's. They do make more noise than my duratracs. But it's a off road tire I could care less about noise. I must agree the duratracs are an awesome tire on and off road. Hope I don't run into the same balance issues as you. The better tire for the op would be the duratracs hands down.

So, do you think you're going to go with the duratrac?

Duratracs are def. Louder than the BFG A/T. I have had 2 sets of those on a Colorado. Just sayin... to whoever said they were the same.

They are noisier for sure. But I would take Dura Tracs over BFG A/T any day.
