Toyota only offered TSB for trucks bought in "extreme climate" states. It is hit or miss with 05+ and frame rust. unfortunately it is at Toyota's discretion whether they offer assistance or not.

hopefully you can get a little more but looking at the first and fourth pictures you posted it seems a hole had developed in certain places which could cause the cab or springs to eventually be compromised.

Yes, we had the truck completely paid off. Right before we sold it my wife told a lot more pictures of the entire frame and we discovered a crack in the frame at the front of the frame, far away from the area of accident damage (see pic link below). Honestly I am sad to be leaving toyota as I really have loved them, but I just can't continue with this kinda of stuff going on in a 9 year old car with 82,000 miles on it. I'm not saying this is everyone's experience, and maybe we were just unlucky, but we'll going to have to gamble on another make of vehicle from now on.

2005s are notorious for frame damage from rust, it's an issue that has been fixed. Where I live, it's almost a requirement to get aftermarket undercoating done every couple of years. my 06 has some rust, not nearly as bad as yours, but I do have to stay on top of it.

Yikes! That does not look good...

I don't think anyone faults you for not wanting another Toyota. That situation would certainly turn me off to them.

What are you thinking about getting?

All auto brands have issues. Corrosion is a fault of using substandard steel and protective coatings. Toyota is no different. Having a frame rot out in such a short time is embarrassing but sounds like they are willing to address it. Might be to little to llate for some people and I can not blame them.

My two week old 34 mile Xterra Pro4x had a quarter size rust spot mid door and Nissan was unwilling to fix it along with the leaking roof. At the dealer matters only got worse. I stood my ground having Nissan engineering review the vehicle declaring it unsafe to drive with water damage in the side air bags and interior. Vehicle was scrapped at 1234 miles. Nissan offered me a nice new Xterra or Frontier 2wd drive base model as a replacement. This was not a viable offer so I proposed Nissan buys me a new Tacoma Off Road which is what finally happened.

The dealer / manufacture business model is screwed up as they have zero accountability to each other. You would assume if your name is in bright letters above the building it would have some relationship. Only manufacture in this country that is tied to the dealer is Tesla. The auto industry has lobbied against Tesla claiming unfair business practices. I think they have it right. If I could afford a Tesla I would buy one based off the consumer friendly business model.

As odd as it sounds I found Facebook to be the best auto research tool out there. You get unfiltered reviews from actual consumers. If the brand has issues people will be speaking up about it.
