    Hi,

I've been searching around for some information on my Tacoma and this forum was not only the most helpful, but seemed to have the nicest posters. Instead of belittling someone for asking a question or not knowing something, people here seem happy to share information and help. I like that, because the amount of stuff I don't know is huge.

My truck is a 2004 V6 4x4 with a manual transmission. It doesn't have any fancy, or even basic, mods other than a camper shell and a cargo basket. I'd like to learn how to do more than change the oil and swap out a flat tire. It has been on many great adventures with my dogs and I, though. Oh, I guess I did modify the interior when I removed the passenger seat to make more room for my dogs :). That has had the added benefit of deterring people from asking me for a ride. "Sure, as long as you don't mind riding in the jump seat and getting covered with dog fur" usually gets an eye roll and an "ugh, never mind" in response. I'm feeling inspired by some of the dog platforms I've seen here, so my pups might have a fancier setup than the blankets and dog beds they currently use. They always wear their harnesses/seat belts, but I think they could be more comfortable and more safe.

We live in eastern Idaho, at the base of the Teton range and right on the Idaho/Wyoming border. I don't do any real off-road driving, but my little truck has taken us to many beautiful and remote places far away from any highways. We've also made 7 cross country trips (well, Idaho to Vermont). It's only an extra cab and I have 2 Siberian Huskies and a GSD/Boxer mix, so it's a good thing everybody gets along so well. They snuggle and use each other as pillows.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to browsing the forum and maybe, when I get my nerve up, asking some questions.

    Cheers from Idaho

    Welcome to TW!

You live in a beautiful part of the country - I drove through there on a road trip back in August 2012.
