I'm hoping someone here can give a step by step on how to install these lights so that they are basically operated on their own switch through a fuse tap. I absolutely do not want to have to tap into any wiring in the harness.

I have all the Hella wiring that came with the light kit as well as the Hella relay. I also have additional 22 gauge and 14 gauge wiring along with fuse taps and a connector assortment. I also have a Toyota style factory switch that i would rather use in place of the Hella switch.

What I want to do is wire the lights in to the switch using a relay and have them powered using the fuse tap. This way I can turn them on and off by themselves using the switch.

Anyone who can help I would appreciate it! Looking at the given instructions is like looking and trying to read brail!!!!! I've searched the site here and there are a few ways it seems to do this but I'm confused if any are setup the way I'm looking to do it.

I was quoted $100 for an install by a local shop and I'd rather not have to fork over that much cabbage if I can at all do this myself.

    Thanks!

Just my opinion...but judging by your level of discomfort with this install - perhaps the $100 would be well spent letting a pro do this for you. I am very comfortable with this type work and I speculate it would take me the better part of two hours to mount the lights, run all the wires, connect the relay, switch, battery tap, and button everything back up. My time is valuable enough that if it were to take ME more than tat, and I were uncomfortable, I would hire it out.

But that's just my opinion...and we know what they say about opinions.
