I recently got a set of method NV wheels installed at my dealership on my 2013 base prerunner DCSB and now I'm getting really bad vibes in the steering wheel around 65mph that I Don't recall feeling as much before. I feel it slightly in the seats and gas pedal as well and it seems to come and go as I accelerate/slow down from 65. I tried reading up on threads throughout TW but a lot of people say they don't feel the vibes in the steering wheel. I know tacomas are prone to high speed vibes but I feel like they got worse with the new wheels. Just wondering what could be causing it like balancing or because the wheels aren't hub centric and what I can do to fix it. Thanks for reading.

Hate to bug you when you're having a prob but how did you get the black bumpers and wheel flares?

Yeah, those rings worked for me. Don't know what the hub bore is on your wheels. There are aluminum versions too, but for me there was only a 1 mm gap and I couldn't get any aluminum rings that thin.

No problem, Its because I have a prerunner base model. Base models come with black bumpers and flares.
Yeah, the wheels are not hub centric. The bore on the wheels are 108mm whereas tacomas are 106.1mm

Thanks for your input man. Probably going to look into this. Discount tire direct, where I got the wheels, usually sends hub rings with the wheels and I asked them about it when I didn't get them and they said it was such a minor difference that it shouldn't matter.

    Road force balanced

Those are the 4 most important things that need to be looked at when purchasing aftermarket wheels and tires on a Tacoma 2nd gen .
Use the search bar on the top right side and investigate each term and you are going to notice that all 4 terms need to be used or looked at when running aftermarket wheels . Ask me why I know this ?

Just put a set of standards on my truck along with 37" tires. I had really bad vibes and wobble with the previous tires. The method wheel hub is bigger than our hubs on the Tacoma, but I did not use the rings on my new Method wheels and 37" tires and mine are fine.

I used Gorilla ET lug nuts carefully hand tightened while the truck was jacked up to make sure the lug nuts center the wheel.

If you're tires are balanced properly then the rings will probably work, but know that the center caps cannot be used with the rings. If you get some nice longer 60 degree lug nuts and take your time mounting the wheels/tires to the correct torque specs you should be fine.

    Thanks for that input.
I really won't be able to have the center caps if I use the rings? Why is that?

That's what Method told me on the phone when we spoke. Of course that was with the Standard wheels, yours may differ. A quick call and you would know.

Mine was vibrating at 40mph pretty bad so I had the dealer grease the front driveshaft really well and the vibes have stopped. Maybe try that
