I just picked up and put on subject shifter knob on my TRD short-shifter.

My main complaint (now that it's been broke in for 6500 mi) is that R was a bit of a "mash" to engage, and the short-shifter made that "shove" for R even worse.

The knob does make R much easier, and all the other gears shift more smoothly.

I'm happy, and I didn't even mind giving the dealer/parts dept $50 for it (I like buying local, unless I'm getting absolutely bent over a bumper on price). I'm sure you can do better on the interwebs.

Just thought I'd plug a knob change, that I had thought was mostly just cosmetic--Skulls and Boobies and Levers, oh my--is actually really, really, functional.

Edit: any ideas on a quick/easy replacement for the leather boot to show more stick (haha, yeah that's what she said) to give it a more retro-look?

I made mine from a Cue ball I got a Dick's Sporting Goods. (7 bucks) It's bigger than any ball knob I could find so it fits my hand better.
