Got it in the mail today.
Don't know if it was posted already, but it's for 2012 and 13's and 2012 RAV4's.
    Brake Actuator Reprograming.

I'm due for an oil change anyways and the paint is falling off the tube steps.

It appears it's for the 2012 & 2013 Tacoma, some Lexus, as well as the 2012 RAV4.

    Recall ID # 14V054000 SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE
    Recall Date:

    FEB 12, 2014
    Model Affected:

    2013 TOYOTA TACOMA
    Summary:

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2012 and 2013 Toyota Tacoma and Lexus RX350 vehicles and certain model year 2012 Toyota Rav4 vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the brake system contains a brake actuator that adjusts the fluid pressure of each wheel cylinder. An electrical component within the actuator may experience an increased resistance resulting in the illumination of various warning lights, including those for the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system, Antilock Brake System (ABS), and Traction Control system.
    Consequence:

If this occurs, these systems could become inoperative, reducing the directional control assistance, increasing the risk of a crash.
    Remedy:

Toyota will notify owners, and Toyota and Lexus dealers will update the software for the Skid Control electronic control unit, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin early April 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.
    Potential Units Affected:

    261114
    Notes:

    Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing

Unfortunately the ECU has to be flashed so us DIYers have to go to the dealership. Bum deal. Hopefully they don't look at to much under the hood, heh. I'll be getting my notice shortly.

I think this happened to me once. I thought it had something to do with the Ultragauge so I unplugged it for a while, but I used the UG for a while after that and it hasn't happened since.
It wasn't dramatic or anything I was just driving in traffic and the lights came on and stayed on til I got home. I turned it off, restarted it and it was gone.

Took mine in last weekend for the spiral cable recall.

Writer looked at it and said "Cruise and wiper delay on a base model single cab? Didn't know those were available in '08"

    "They weren't"

    "?????"

So he brought it back, went over the inspection results (I'm doing the water pump tomorrow).
"Oh, and your alarm for the key in the ignition was unplugged, we fixed it"
    "sigh... thanks"

I "unfixed" it before I backed out of the parking space.

I received my notice yesterday. I havn't had any dash light come on yet. I am gonna wait before bringing it in. Let them reflash a few thousand before me. My truck runs great.
BTW, I also just received a recall on my wife's Prius. Another ECU reflash. Gonna wait on that one too. What's going on Toyota? Are you competing with GM recalls?

Just a little update regarding the powder coating falling off the tube steps.

They *did* warranty them. Just got out of the dealership. Took well over a month, but at least they replaced them. All is good.
