    I thought ATM were run on Linux based os? I'm sure most large banks (chase, Bank of America) have upgraded to 7.

    Wonder how many times they will blink? I still think staying with XP is a fools game.

    I wouldn't expect them to blink too much. I'm guessing since it was such a big bug so close to the deadline they decided to just patch it. Relevant experts were likely not yet reassigned so they just had them do it anyway. The other possibility is that the flaw was an easy fix and was some unchanged piece throughout the versions so it was just a matter of recompiling for XP.
