Please help me with value of truck I inherited from my mother. 2002 reg cab base model only 23K miles, but it's been sitting a while. Condition pretty good--just some minor rust. Was babied. KBB value is only about 8K but they're selling online for much more. Are first gen reg cabs hard to find or sought after, especially with low mileage? Thanks for feedback! P.s. Don't know if it matters but it's black.

Is it 4x4 I know a guy who paid about 11k for nice 2wd base model at a dealer only had about 15,000 miles. Was a 2001-2004. 8-10k seems reasonable depending on the area and conditon.

DUDE!! Now granted i bought mine with a list and some tires along with an exhaust and it had 150k on it i got mine for 12k. I am in California its the Quad cab but not 4x4 i would not sell that thing for any less than the 12 to 14k range. That doesn't even have mileage on it!

Update: I looked underneath and it's pretty rusty. Friend says it's no big deal. Did pass inspection recently. Trying to figure out how to upload pics.

Frame rust may be a deal breaker. If it's in good condition and 4x4 put it up for like $13k and see what happens, someone will probably bite ;)

If frame is bad, should I replace it to sell for much more? Is that possible to do? Can you find frames in decent shape?

OK. Evidently my mother never got undercoating; too old and ill to respond to Toyota notices to deal with it. So the frame is definitely bad.

How much do you think someone would pay for truck for parts: excellent 23K engine and upper body?
