Just a side note and not really helpful but for that price I'd just rather buy a brand new 14' PreRunner. I couldn't justify that close to what people are paying for 14's on a Tacoma with ~36k on the ODO.

If it was me, I'd sell my current truck and get into a brand new 2014. Then again if it makes a difference, 14's don't come with the special rear view mirrors (temp, compass, etc) unless you get a Limited, but some people have been dealers to compensate for that.

EDITED: I meant 14's dont have the nice rear view with temp and compass....didn't mean backup cameras

I thought it was a fair deal until I saw that it's not a 4x4 but a 2wd. I'm with JdevTac.... put the money into a new one or find a sweeter deal.

Whats wrong with your current drive? Just keep it
I know that wasn't the question you were asking but if you at all can then do it.

The truck I'm considering is for my son. I'll be keeping mine.

Too much for a prerunner. FWIW I paid 24,995.00 For my 2009 Tacoma Access Cab TRD OR 4x4 with 6k miles in July of 2010. Traded it in March of 2014 for 19,500.00 with 48k miles. I think you could find a better deal.

The price it's at isn't bad at all in terms of what used Tacomas go for and holding resale values as I'm sure you know, but in relation to new prices, it isn't a great deal by any means.

Not sure if you have already seen the thread, but go check out the "what did you pay for your 2014 Tacoma" thread (name is something along those lines) and compare that to what you are seeing used prices as. I think after you see what people are paying for a new 2014, you will be able to make a decision. Just make sure you are looking at info from people in your area since out the door prices change between regions. For me in the SE, 4x4 Tacomas aren't very negotiable in most cases so I had to take that into account when I went new Tacoma shopping.

This all depends on how long you want to keep this next Tacoma you buy. IF its for a very long time (or like me where I will have it until it turns to dust) then new is the way to go.

EDIT: this all depends on how long your son will keep it. My parents bought my 2013 which I am taking over payments for now as I am out of college and going into med school, but my plan is to have it until the apocalypse so new made the most sense.

Hell i paid over a year ago 28k for my wifes 13 prerunner dcsb off road and just traded it in a year later with 10k on the clock for 29k. Depends on location i would think.

Bring 20k In cash put it in his face and i bet he will bite.
