Amazing Aeromodded Toyota

This truck gets 40mpg at 60mph. I wouldn't go this this extreme with my project, but I appreciate the dedication involved with a project of this magnitude.

Alright, I'm not typically one of "these" guys, in fact this is the first time I'm posting this...

...but don't you feel as though this could have been posted in one of the other 3 or 4 "mpg/fuel efficiency" threads you've created or participated in?

I say that only because:

1. I think you'll get better response
2. It's less clutter on the board

Also, why even have a truck at that point? Why not just buy a hybrid car?

To me, it looks like a backyard turd project or a "college" project.

There are so many things anti-aero about it, for instance:
1. Mirrors
2. Tires
3. loop at the top of cab
4. square tail
5. Bed still attached
6. Gas vs diesel

Granted that 40mpg is a decent baseline to start with (not to be a buzzkill).
If you are going for a federal grant or award, more power to you and your team.

If I was concerned about MPG, I wouldn't have purchased a truck nor the prior uber super sedan. I am more focused on the "fun factor".
