I have heard and read so many options for lifts. I got the wheels and tires (265-75-16) before the lift. Should I just do a 3 n 1 level or can I go a little higher without the wheels looking too small? Should I add a leaf or blocks? I live in north Florida. No mountains here. Thanks for any advice you all can offer!

Keep it minimal with that tire size.

I have a 3" with 265s. If you get some good tires I think it still looks fine.

Just tell her your front shocks went out. Then buy a 3 inch springs for the front. Then be surprised that's it's lifted now lol. Once that stage is done tell her you now have to lift the back to match the front.

    ^^This.

Good luck with that. Don't park near a stock Tacoma with a lifted one, it's very obvious. At least after you lift it she'll complain about getting in so you can buy some rock sliders as steps for her. :D

    Welcome to TW!

Lmao! I tried those sliders for steps excuse. Didn't work. All you hear is these things are stupid! Why they sit up so high? It's almost the same height as the door.

My 5' wife is ok with the sliders. I'm running Icon stage 4 with Dakars. It's 3" taller, but she hasn't whined. She's the only person that steps on the slider.

There was some "rubbing" from the larger tires which I said could be fixed by lifting it slightly. I have already got a new head unit (needed the Bluetooth for safety). Speakers and amp will follow because they aren't visible. Also got a k&n cai (helps my gas Milage). I using the boil a frog without it noticing method to upgrade my truck..

The consensus on this site is that pretty much every CAI is worthless. It already gets all the air it can get with the stock paper filter and the only way to force more air is to grab a snorkel or some other modification that isn't just a drop in.

If you're getting more MPG and haven't changed your driving habits then congrats, you ARE the 1%.

I realized that after I joined tw. That is one of the many excuses I have used on my wife so I can upgrade without conflict.
