I've got a 12.5' yak and a mtn bike I'd like to carry. I've put on a yakima rack rail system already. Would you put a 80lb kayak on top or a 25lb mtn bike that I can barely reach the top of my truck to lift it up? I'm leaning more towards the hully rollers in back and some make saddles in front for the kayak, then that leads to another question. How would you lock your bike in the bed of your truck? Has anybody made a locking system like a bed ring you can't unscrew? With the kayak in my bed it hangs out quite far, I have to angle it to the passengers side and the stern sticks out the passengers side maybe 2 foot. Rack mounting is expensive so i really only want to buy one.i don't really live in a high crime area but I've had a snow board stolen just a little ways up the mtn And my bike costs more than it so I'd prefer to lock it down. Also do any of you know about the bow tie downs, do they affect your trucks paint?

One of those tall bed racks will keep your kayak on the roof of the truck. That way you can put a bike mount on the rail of the bed. You can find those with locks to lock the bike in place

Yea I seen those but I would still have to lift my kayak high into the bed, and I have new roof rack already. Maybe something more like a crossbar in front of my tool box I can chain my bike to.

This is what I have for my rack in the back. Yakima BedRock Mount System. I have a 10.5' Dagger kayak that I have since mounted underneath the rack. It sticks out about 4' with the tail gate down so I just tie a red flag on the back. I plan on getting a Yakima set up much like yours for the top (or maybe a Baja Rack system) to eventually carry the kayak on the top again.

I've got 2 Steelhead bike mounts that will fit on either side of the Load Warrior basket in the back for the Bikes. Just don't have them mounted in these pictures.
