Hello, I was wondering what you all do as preventative maintenance on your truck and if you use any additives like fuel intake cleaner and things of that sort?

I am about to hit 50k miles on my 2012, when I bought the truck I planned to not drive it a lot and would keep it for the rest of my life. Things changed and I have put a lot of miles on it. I did all the regular maintenance like the 30k service already. What got me thinking about adding any of these additives in the fuel etc was the little poster at chevron showing the different intake valves using chevron gas or not. Just wondering as I want to keep the truck running at least 300k before replacing any major items.

I dont add any additives. I replace things based on Toyotas recommendation for replacement. So I'm at 105k and I'm replacing the hubs up front as an example.

If you want your truck to last 300k miles you'll want to actually replace things vs just putting additives in it.

keep up to date on your power steering, diff, transmission, transfercase, coolant, brake, fluids and you should keep everything running nicely but you'll still need to replace things. Nothing lasts forever.
