    a couple of months ago my truck and I slid off the road into a guardrail. the insurance was going to total it until the last minute they changed their collective minds and had it fixed. I took it to a local body shop and its been there for almost two weeks now. While she has been in lock-up i was able to purchase a few upgrades that are awaiting her return;
    Fat Bob's 5-lug lift kit
    Body Armor steel rear bumper
    Toyota Symbol decal for back window courtesy of http://stickerhi.bigcartel.com
    Smittybilt Nerf Steps off a first-gen extra-cab

    It should be a fun weekend installing all these new upgrades. First off ill probably put on the sticker, I'm gonna have to center it across the rear window. luckily its a solid piece of glass, not the sliding window type, which is actually the reason i wanted to put something back there, because it looked so bare without the sliding window.
    Next ill take a whack at trying to mount those nerf bars. i know for damn well they wont just bolt on so ill have to make some custom mounts for them and ill make a wright-up on them for any one who wants to put nerf steps on their reg-cabs like I want to. I'm figuring that because one end of the step has a vertical mounting flange and the other end has a horizontal flange it will be a decent challenge to get them to play nicely.
    The next thing I would do would be to put the bumper on, but unfortunately its still in the mail somewhere so unless the FedEx guy drops it off in the morning I'm on to the lift. I got the full lift kit for my 2WD 5-lugger; Spacers up front and AALs and longer shocks in the back. I watched a few videos online on how to do this and it looks pretty easy. My only problem will be finding a piece of land flat enough to to have the truck on jack stands without falling over. But once I find that spot it will be all about patience and using the right tools for the job. after thats all done ill throw my tool box back on and take a couple of pictures. Those along with the pictures ill take along the way ill post to here and probably end up making a build thread out of it.

    Long=more plush ride. Short=they say stiffer but I didn't notice a diff from stock. I chose this one cause I use the bed of this truck occasionally.

    so for future reference if anyone is doing a spacer lift like this one remember to take off the A-arm first even tho the instructions say to do it afterwards.
