Just pinged the PC and it is the same as the laptop. I unplugged the router and ran the DSL right into the laptop and PC and both still show a very similar result.

That down load speed is slower than an old school dial up modem which would be around .56 mbps. Back in the day I had a DSL connection and from time to time it would go on the fritz and I'd have to call the phone company to get it working again. (even when it was working it wasn't much better than dial up because I was so far from the distribution point.)

It's funny b/c I was on dialup for a long time, till about 06 I think. I don't download music or play games online, so just did what I needed it to do and I never cared about having lightning fast Net.

So either something is wrong with the modem, or Verizon is having network issues. It's also odd that your upload speeds are higher than your download speeds.

Well, didn't think of that one!

After a little bit with the Verizon tech support, he told me to unplug the 2 phones and it came right back up. The filter on the upstairs phone croaked. Leaving that one unplugged till I get new filters for both jacks.

..try the router/modem reboot sequence, per maju's post... ...try a different ethernet port on the router... otherwise, could be a DSL problem?...
