Tire Rot?

    Out of curiosity, what is the week and year stamp on the tire? If you got the truck used, it is possible the tire could be old. If it is longer than 10 years, replace no matter what it looks like...

    Edit: I misread the tire date in the OP.

    Many tire cleaners and tire shine products can actually harm the rubber compounds in the tire. Try 303 Aerospace Protectant. Amazing stuff.

    Hey guys,

    Yesterday I was looking at my tire pressure and noticed some small dry rot on my tires. They are only about a year/ year and a half old. I was planning on driving 450 miles to Denver to see my family before I deploy and I was wondering what you all thought. Should I be nervous? BFG Baja Champion

    i have bfg's on mine. they were rotted at 19k after 2 years of florida sunshine. tire dealer said tough shit. you get what you pay for. i'm going to replace with michelin or yokohama.

    That biggest continuous crack seems to be right about the area the tire carcass and tread are joined. That worries me a bit, especially with the BFG A/T and their tread separation history.
