I was wanting to use the stock shark fin antenna with my aftermarket Pioneer 4000nex stereo & SiriusXM SXV200 but I had read on another thread that the Shark Fin Antenna Adapter SFA12M will not work with the 2014 Tacoma stock XM antenna. I have been trying to find a solution but can't find anything. I also called VAIS Tech and got no help what so ever.

Has anyone done this with a 2014 yet?

I am doing this on a 2013 this weekend. What you need is a female smb to female smb adapter like this:
    http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/142245/ACX2158-ND/3868273

and an xm extension like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/SIRIUS-Universal-Antenna-Extension-SBRGT-5/dp/B004SQ48E6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402498760&sr=8-2&keywords=5+ft+xm+extension

Using those 2 together after pulling the xm antenna lead from the blue connector in the drivers kick panel area should work. I will let you know later this weekend.

Thanks. Def. let me know if that works for you. I may give it a shot. My concern is that since the Shark Fin Antenna Adapter SFA12M from VAIS Tech works for the 2009-2013 but doesn't work on the 2014, did they change a connector on the 2014?

Thanks, Kyle. I appreciate it. Yeah at $30, your idea is worth a shot. Not so much at $60

I am considering the same HU(I keep going back and forth on stock HU with processor vs aftermarket...hence my poll haha)

I have a question......what are you doing about the back up camera? Is there a solution for that yet? I thought the 2014 camera had a different voltage than previous models.

I have a 2013 and am tapping into the factory signal. Voltage shouldn't make a difference in the image presented, it may skew colors, but I couldn't tell you. I will see if I can find it in TIS if there is indeed a voltage difference

After checking TIS Voltages on both cameras are exactly the same. It appears the only differences are a 6 pin connector (that only uses 4 pins...) on the 2014 and the 2014 going to the head unit not the rear view mirror. Otherwise power, ground, and AC waveforms are all exactly the same

So it would just be an issue of finding the correct 6 pin connector that only has 4 wires to go into the HU? I recall seeing a thread on this topic and something about a seller on eBay working on them.

Double_B, there is a guy on ebay (ckremernimrod1) and he can make a harness for you for $30 shipped. I haven't bought the harness yet cause my buddy wants to research it first before I spend money for a harness. He does this stuff professionally and I just help. (or try to not get in his way)

Does anyone have more info on getting the oem back up camera to work with a pioneer head unit? I have tried contacting ckremernimrod1 on ebay several times without success. I believe this is the correct plug for the camera. Can I tap into somehow?

Sorry that I don't have any detailed info for you. Since my install guy was having trouble getting it hooked up, we just ordered the harness from ckremernimrod1 and it worked great. I think we I first contacted him it took a few days to a week

Oh wow...I never even thought to look there for it. I spent about 30 minutes searching my old emails cause I knew I had it somewhere.

Looking at PayPal only took about 30 seconds. Can't believe I missed that.
