Yea front plates suck, thankfully AZ doesn't require them :D

I can say the popo's do use it as an excuse. Driving through cali, doing nothing I saw 2 cops bust a U on me, pull up behind me, see I had an AZ plate, then back off and I could see them get all pissed off and turn away...

Your lucky the cop did not stop you. AZ laws do not apply in California.

Just bc Cali requires you to have a front and rear plate doesnt mean cars from out of state have to have a front and rear plate..

Its not like VA and there no Radar detectors law..

Technically, regardless of AZ's law or any other... if you're in the state you under their laws. Thus, they could hit me for not having the front plate. However, most of the CA hwy patrol isn't retarded enough to think it's even remotely worth while to try and cite someone for it as it'd either get thrown out by the judge or the offender will never show up, or never pay up. Most people in AZ don't even have two plates... and a lot of CA's local 'out of state' business comes from AZ for tourism and such.

So For example if I was to be in a State with a "2 Plate" Law, and my Truck only has 1 bc North Carolina only gives you 1 for the back, then What are you supposed to do..

Ignore it and carry on? Claim ignorance, they'd have to be a real asshat to try and hit you for it. Plus, I highly doubt the judge would insist you pay a fine for it. Both cali and oregon require it... but i've never been pulled over for it.

I do not have a front plate on my Corvette or truck. Have been stopped before in the vette but front plate was never an issue. If it was, I would just tell them I was returning or going to a car show.

One more reason to move to Texas. Nevada is becoming "Eastern California." Thanks Harry F'n Reid.

Actually, thats incorrect. The "Full Faith and Credit clause of the Constitution requires states to recognize laws of other states. So if an AZ resident is "legal" without a front plate in AZ, then they are "legal" without it while in California. The law of the state that requires a front plate can only be applied to citizens of that state, or to vehicles that are registered in that state. Vehicles registered legally in any one state are legal in all states, regardless of any laws in that state that it may contradict.

Really, I thought everybody loved Reid?? :p

Well, it has been a while since there has been any activity on this bill. As of now, it seems to be stuck in a limbo. Maybe some of the no front plate proponents can fire off a letter to there Representative. You just might be surprised at how much they actually listen to there constitutes. I have received three hand signed letters from my Representative in the last two years. By the way, I only sent three letters. ;)
