I have a 2011 with a JBL system without the entune system. The built-in bluetooth works great for calls, but won't allow me to stream audio from my iphone. I can make a wired connection from the phone to the aux jack, but I was thinking a more elegant solution would be to get a simple bluetooth reciever with a 1/8" plug, connect it to the aux jack and play music/podcasts wirelessly. Would this work? Would I still be able to use the head unit's bluetooth connection for phone calls or would it be an either/or siutation?

I use a bluetooth receiver for my truck (http://www.htc.com/us/accessories/htc-bluetooth-stereoclip/) and it works great and the sound quality is awesome. However, I do think it would be an either or situation because it could only connect to one at a time.

That's kinda what I figured. If I'm using a wired connection and a call comes in, the phone will connect to the stereo via bluetooth, but I'm guessing it wouldn't know to switch from one bluetooth reciever (aux jack) to the other (stereo).

I might try it anyway. What bluetooth connector did you use or are they all pretty much the same?

EDIT: nevermind, I just noticed the link. Thanks!

I'm almost positive the HTC bluetooth receiver will work with other smartphones other then just HTC. I tried receiving a call while I was connected to it and it would not play though the speakers however.

    EDIT:
However you could go a little bit further and get a whole new stereo that allows bluetooth streaming and calling. Ill link a video of one that does.....

Its actually PcBuilder14's setup but you could do it for a 2nd gen.
