Ball joint size in rear view mirror

    I am trying to figure out the size of the ball joint that goes into the back of our rear view mirrors. I ordered this:
    RAM Mounts (RAM-A-238 2 7/16" X 1 5/16" Base with Ball
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077G73GO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 thinking it was the same size. Turns out 7/16 is too small still.

    The next size up is 1in but I have a feeling that would be too big. I measured with a micrometer after the fact and the ball appears to be 15mm in diameter or 19/32 (I think).

    Can anyone think of where I can get a mount similar to the link above with the correct ball size? I've googled around quite a bit. I guess I need the correct size of the ball first. Pretty sure my measurements with the micrometer are accurate
