Just bought my first bike, 96 honda nighthawk 750. Great bike so far, only issue is the tach is broken. Not a necessity, but worth a look around if I can fix or replace it. It looks like a common issue where the solder breaks holding the interior spring to the stator post.

Has anyone done this fix? Or have any other ideas?

Seems like it should be easy enough to find a cheap replacement on ebay? Nighthawks are super common so there should be a lot of replacements available. Are you sure it's an internal break and not the cable itself? A relatively common problem is the cable gets rusted and binds or breaks.
