I sometimes can't answer incoming calls using the Steering Wheel answer call button. This happens on incoming land line, Verizon and AT&T cellular calls. If it does work and I stop and turn the truck off and restart the engine the answer call button may or may not work. I even had a failure with the salespeople watching. I have an appointment on the 17th. Anyone have this problem? I tried using the default on the touchscreen and it works until I turn off and restart the truck. Using the answer call on the touchscreen works fine.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I haven't experienced that but if it were me I would delete the phone and re-pair it with the radio.

I haven't had any issues with my system, works better than my 2010 Tundra.

How in the hell do you have an incoming land lane in your truck?

I've only had my truck a few weeks, and only had 3 calls come in while I was driving - 2 incoming from land lines and 1 incoming from another cell (don't know the provider), and they've all been handled fine with the steering wheel.

Edit - My phone is an iPhone 5 (original, before the C or S) with latest iOS

No trouble with calls on the bluetooth on my '14 and Google Nexus 5 running the latest versions of Android over the last 5 months.

Sending texts from the truck's touchscreen has been hit or miss though.

You remember the OLD TIME PHONES that plugged into a wall jack in a house or place of business and that line was connected to a telephone pole or terminal?...land line.:D

Think OP is trying to say the call was placed from a land line and he was answering it via bluetooth on his cell phone in his car. Just poorly worded and irrelevant information.

OP, if you really want help then it may help to state what make/model phone you're using and the build number if it's android as it sounds like you're trying to say the failure is occurring between your truck and device (so network is not a factor). I'd first try unpairing and repairing your phone and deleting any superfluous pairs on the truck.

I have a Samsung Convoy 2 (flip phone). I have paired, unpaired, repaired in my despair and the cell phone always communicates with the bluetooth. If it didn't the bt would not recognize the in-coming calls. Today my wife called and I couldn't answer using the steering wheel button but when I flipped open my phone the bt answered. The cell phone and the bluetooth are communicating fine...the steering wheel off hook button is not communicating with the bluetooth when pushed. I have a flip phone because it is LESS bulky.

    He doesn't have a " Pairing Issue ".

It don't always answer the phone incoming call from the steering wheel answer button. The Touch screen answer works as it should.

I agree with you OP it does sound like the interface between the stereo and the steering wheel is jacked up.

Ranch Topper, Bull Bar.....Yes, I know everyone thinks they are crap, I like the look
I don't drive out Tacoma enough to know if we have this problem.
The Kenwood in my service vehicle does the same thing.
    Drives me nuts.
