The original pins are long enough but I got another set, good thing cause the ones I had on were rusted and stripped out easy. I just took the leaves apart and put the d29 3rd leaf down, it's almost the exact length of the existing 3rd leaf down anyway

Not sure I know what you mean, the D29XL is meant to be added to your current dakar leaf spring pack to increase spring rate and nearly 1/2" in ride height

I saw that too from low ranges website I think, had me confused as well, and the difference In length between the D29 and what was already in my leaf pack was minimal. Based on the average dakar ride heights though, I was at 2 1/2" which was a little lower than average so I just threw the d29 in their and I got right at 3". If you look in my pics you will see the 3rd and 4th leaves are nearly identical.

Agree. You getting the ATO or XJ shackle? What rear shocks, I think you need 27" extended, I don't have a clue what the icon extended rears are length wise.

Keep me updated because I'm thinking of doing the same, just keep talking myself out of it.

Shackle flip is going to decrease your load ability, FYI.

Is that because the springs are flattened more? I assumed if the shackle flip was installed at the correct angle producing the least amount of instability you could retain factory loads.

From what I understand, the problem lies with our leaf packs (all designed for the inverted shackle design).

I see one guy out west getting custom packs that are 2" longer, which I believe would essentially gain the arch back that is lost.

That makes sense, good looking out, guess if you are concerned with towing or carrying capacities at factory max frequently then a shackle flip isn't for you!

So I just took my icon uniball caps off to do a little maintenance (been about 6-7 months) and holy ish! There was dirt caked under that thing! I sprayed them out with water and then put some Teflon lube in there and re-sealed. Guess I need to check that about every 3-4 months.

Installed my front SS extended brake lines. Didn't think it would make a noticeable effect on braking, but it does! A lot more of a firm pedal feel, so much better.

Finally got a set of bed lights from mattgecko, love them, just waiting on darkness to check the lighting area!

    Edit: darkness has arrived

    Craig you're the man!
So after talking through this, my plan going forward will be to do the following mods for a 2015 trip to Moab as this is my only shot to go:

    - CBI Trail Rider with Swingout Rear Bumper (Single Jerry Holder)-next on list
    - Mid/transfer/trans Skids from Pelfreybilt-ordered!
    - Bed Rack from SOS with CMC plates (custom)
    - ARB Compressor with Rear Locker
    - 295/75/16 Tires hankook dynapro mt's
    - Winch (Engo EPF10000-s?)
    - Extra Recovery gear
    - Rotopax fuel storage containers
    - Spare parts
