So I have a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L V-6 4x4 Man transmission. Toyota says the transmission needs to be replaced. I'm interested in any and all ideas. Where is the best place to buy a new or used transmission? Also, it only has 103K on it. I also might be interested in selling it, I'm located in Pensacola Fl.

Junk yard, maybe look around for a truck with a rusted our frame and take the transmission.

Manual trans failure at 103k miles? That doesnt sound right. Clutch maybe, but still seems early. Unless you had a fluid issue, whether it be contamination, or leaked it all out. Do you have any more details?

thats hard to believe. my friends 99 has 285k on his motor and trans and nothing has ever gone wrong. that is with 35s and long travel suspension. id maybe try and get a second opinion. Keep in mind dealers just want your money.
