Replace SR5 Chrome rear bumper with black bumper?

Hey all, first time posting, but I've been watching for two years and have found so much useful information here. Thanks for that!

I have a 2005 V6 Prerunner SR5 TRD Off-road with the chrome rear bumper. I'm looking to change the bumper out to a black powder-coated bumper. Two winters ago a blizzard and a yellow parking barrier at the local Home Depot put a kabosh on my plan to powder coat the current chrome bumper hah!

All results I've been finding online have been specifically for "W/O SR5". Anyone know where I can find one online? Several hours of searching and I haven't located anything that I know will fit for certain? Not looking for a road warrior style, just like the standard bumper, but black.

Subscribed. I hope you find one because I want to replace mine. Mainly because I hate chrome and I'm not a fan of plastidip.

 

Why wouldn't a rear bumper be interchangeable between Base, SR5, Off Road or Sport 05-14? I thought the rears were all the same. I know the Sport is color matched and the base black but still interchangeable.

 

Why don't you just go to a body shop and order a new one? I stopped by a body shop that I have used in the past and they ordered me a new bumper and then painted it. This body shop has accounts with all the local Toyota dealers so they can get OEM parts. They got the color code off my truck and perfectly color matched it.

It turns out that the chrome bumper costs more than the color matched. Chrome is $560 and a unpainted is $250, to paint and clearcoat it another $100.

I had a stock chrome bumper and replaced it with a base sr5 black bumper. It bolted up no problem at all. Also my black rear bumper is for sale
